WHAT IS A DENTAL EMERGENCY?
If you experience a dental emergency, be sure to call our practice as soon as possible. If you need immediate attention after hours, call our emergency phone number and our on-call staff member will help you. If you are unable to reach our office during an emergency, dial 911.
We are here to help you, any time, any day. When your dental health is at risk, we will do everything we can to make sure that you’re treated as soon as possible. While dental emergencies are rare, they can happen, and it’s important to know how to take care of your teeth no matter what. Common dental emergencies include:

Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Jacob Son
Originally from New Mexico, Dr. Son earned his undergraduate degree in Neurobiology and Physiology from Purdue University, graduating with honors. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Indiana University School of Dentistry, one of the nation’s oldest and most respected dental institutions. During dental school, he also participated in a dental service mission to Haiti, providing care to patients in underserved communities—an experience that shaped his commitment to service and clinical excellence.
Before relocating to Colorado, Dr. Son practiced in Wisconsin, where he completed advanced training in oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry, and dental implants. He has completed more than 300 hours of implant-specific education and earned Fellowship status with both the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and Implant Pathways.
Dr. Drew Williams
General DentistOriginally from Canada, Dr. Williams completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biology followed by a Master’s degree in Anatomy & Cell Biology. Dr. Williams then moved to Florida where he completed a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree at Nova Southeastern University.
After working at a dental practice in New Mexico for a few years and frequenting the Southwest Colorado area to snowboard and hike, it became obvious that his heart belonged to Colorado.
Dr. Yoolim Kim
PeriodontistDr. Yoolim Kim moved to Colorado in 2015 from northwest suburb of Chicago. In 2001, she graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in general biology. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2006 from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. In 2009, Dr. Yoolim Kim completed her 3 year surgical residency in periodontics and implant surgery. During her residency, Dr. Kim conducted research on dental extractions and bone grafting. Upon completion of her research, she defended her thesis and was awarded a Master of Science in Dental Research degree from St. Louis University.
Dr. Jason Morris
OrthodontistDr. Morris received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of San Diego, and then attended The University of Southern California School of Dentistry on a Health Professions Scholarship from the United States Navy. Upon graduating in 2008, Dr. Morris completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program and then served as a General Dentist Officer in the Navy for four years.
In 2015, Dr. Morris earned his Certificate in Orthodontics and Masters of Oral Biology from the Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry.
Dr. Hunter McAreavy
General DentistDr. Hunter is very excited to begin serving patients at Sierra Dental & Orthodontics! Dr. Hunter is from a small town in Missouri and moved to Colorado in 2020. She completed her Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri in 2016, and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) School of Dentistry in May of 2020.
Dr. Hunter recently got married in Kansas City, Missouri and has a large Bernese Mountain Dog named Moose. In her free time, she loves hiking with her dog, skiing, and enjoying the great outdoors. Dr. Hunter enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and has a passion for helping patients with dental anxiety.
