Dr. Derek Owens

Dr. Owens was born and raised in Michigan. After graduating as valedictorian of his high school class, Dr. Owens completed his Bachelor of Science degree with honors at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He then attended Dental School at Nova Southeastern University in South Florida, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, finishing near the top of his class.

Dr. Owens is the Owner Doctor of Sierra Dental & Orthodontics – River North, and he is passionate about creating a unique and comfortable dental experience for his patients. Dr. Owens recognizes the value of patient-centered treatment and strives to make each patient feel comfortable and heard throughout their appointment. Dr. Owens specializes in cosmetic dentistry and consistently completes cosmetic-focused continuing education courses, allowing him to provide the most successful outcomes while utilizing the most modern technology and techniques. As one of the premier cosmetic dentists in Colorado, we have many patients who travel from all over the country, specifically to have these procedures completed by Dr. Owens.

Dr. Owens is passionate about helping those in need and has donated his time on several mission trips to Jamaica and Nicaragua, as well as has participated in Give Kids a Smile.

Dr. Owens is committed to providing the best possible dental experience to the residents of Denver and the surrounding communities.

In his free time, Dr. Owens enjoys spending time with his wife, Mylène, their daughter, Harper, and their labradoodle, Jackie. Dr. Owens enjoys spending time outdoors, golf, volleyball, skiing, hiking, coaching his daughter’s sports teams, and traveling.
